Research focus

I am a biologist amazed by effector proteins and interested in applying the knowledge from the plant-pathogen crosstalk as solutions to improve agricultural phytosanitary issues. I have been working in functional characterization of pathogen-derived effectors and the use of plant immune receptors as biotechnological tools. At Djamei’s Lab my focus is on underpinning Ustilago maydis effector functionality through molecular genetics approaches.
