Following the successful defense, he was traditionally presented with a doctoral hat specially designed by his colleagues. The hat was handed over by one of our PhD candidates who will soon defend her own PhD thesis – in keeping with the tradition of our department. In perfect weather, the celebrations then continued with the doctoral cart ride from Campus Poppelsdorf to Poppelsdorf Castle.
