A week in Leiden to talk camera traps, walk dunes, and connect with old and new friends Stephanie spent the week sharing her recent camera trapping research.

The 8th European Congress for Conservation Biology (ECCB) took place in Leiden, the Netherlands, from the 6th to the 10th of July. Stephanie was there to present her insights from the first year of camera trapping on Campus Wiesengut, where she investigated the potential of time-lapse imagery for wildlife monitoring in open agricultural landscapes. The week started with an excursion to the Hollandse Duinen National Park, home to several iconic dune habitats like the one in the picture above. From Tuesday to Friday, the days were stacked with inspiring presentations, challenging scientific debates, and fun social events. Steph had a great time reconnecting with old colleagues and friends, and getting to know new ones, while brewing research ideas.
